we rather pride ourselves on NOT being another “run-of-the-mill” lake spot for just anyone passing through.
We could rattle on about how we’re rustic and homespun, but the truth is, we’re amateurs. You won’t find the same sparkle as you would at a corporate-run airbnb or a top-tier hotel. Instead, you might be treated to a basket of fresh duck eggs, or wildflowers when open your cabin door.
The towels might not all match, but they’re certain to be clean. In our seventh year doing this project we finally realized it was time to be truly ourselves.
How?
All of the artwork (and there’s a lot) in the cabins has almost entirely been painted by members of our family (Martha Smith, Elaine Hanton) and most of all by my lovely wife, Geri. We periodically stay in each of our cabins (and occasionally the campground, too) to LIVE in the spaces and find things to improve. Bringing my mother in law and our two very young daughters means we’re thinking about a variety of needs, primarily focusing on making this a FAMILY affair,
That said, we have come to peace with the fact that there will ALWAYS BE THINGS WE CAN IMPROVE. So our cabins and campgrounds are kinda like life and we’re happy to share our steady progress with a few of the right travelers.
Right now, we think our little inn + campground is pretty cool. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do—or more, hell, you get all the pleasure and none of the work.
Unless you really want work…Then we have plenty.
Thanks for looking, we hope your visit is wonderful.
Sincerely,
Jesse + Geri, Molly and Mattie Moskel

The following is mainly a collection of rants and emotional outbursts by a guy who is too old to start something new like a resort. With ZERO background in construction, I bare my soul for your laughter. There may be a few useful tidbits mixed in. That is purely by accident. Read at your own risk.
Many who stay here find the little peninsula we occupy to be a magical place… we find that magical people tend to be attracted here, so we’re undecided on which come first.
What we do know for certain is that we owe a degree of gratitude to a lot of folks for us to have the priveledge of hosting you on this land. What follows is a rag-tag retelling of a lot of bits of story, and some history about the land and the people who’ve come before us…
